One of the world’s biggest first world problems these days is knowing how to stylishly dress (for men, anyway). Gone are the days of throwing on your suit during the week, and on the weekend, lounging in your pants, comfy slippers, no shirt, while drinking a beer. Ok, so that was my stepdad. White trash bum he was. Anyway … men have no choice but to step it up in the style department if they even want to be considered for a job, a date, getting the VIP treatment in a long club line-up – you name it, clothes definitely make the man. But the problem is (aside from my stepdad), fashion’s got a whole lot more jumbled and confusing. It’s in the mixing and mashing of different styles, materials, and colors that will either make, or break an outfit. The “devil’s in the details” as they say. So if this is sounding too abstract for you, then I’ll make it simple. I’ll stop talking about my stepdad, and start talking about the style god who swapped his soccer jersey for crisp, modern outfits, impeccable tailoring, and monochromatic masterpieces. I’m talking about David Beckham. By simply checking out these 20 killer outfits he worse in 2016, you can literally put your entire wardrobe at ease, and never have to worry about what to wear for the rest of the year.

When it comes to blazers, stick to two buttons. Never less, never more. Oh, and that pocket chain, if you’re badass enough, go on and rock one.

One of the hardest outfits to master is the airport one. Because you’ve got to be comfortable for the flight, yet look put together enough when you’re boarding. And David’s outfit here shows the power that a simple white T-shirt can have. Make sure at least one drawer in your dresser is full of them.

Far too many get far too fancy with their suits. From sleeves and pants cropped too short, to outlandishly floral pocket squares, David here shows you why simple is always best.

Now that the cooler weather has arrived, a pair of quality chelsea boots is a must. Brands like Common Projects, A.P.C, Saint Laurent, and Tom Ford are go-tos when you don’t know where to go, to. Oh, and a navy double breasted overcoat is doesn’t hurt either.

If you’re looking at this pic and thinking to yourself, “so what? it’s just a blue suit”, then boy have you ever come to the right place. You’ve got to learn, like, how important impeccable tailoring is. Think of a tailor like you barber, and make sure you find one that’s the best.

Still unsure about that leather jacket? Here’s exhibit B. for why you should have at least one of very high quality in your closet. Think brands like APC, Schott, and Brunello Cucinelli.

Same airport, jeans, hat and handbag. Different shirt, shoes, and he threw on a jacket. This is what happens when you own a few, but carefully selected key pieces in your wardrobe.

Rule #241: Suit should fit, sweats should flab. You want your sweatshirts to be big, bulky, and comfy. And by juxtaposing it with some well-fitting pants – now you’re in style god territory.

Did you noticed the Ray-Ban’s David was wearing in the other photos? Well here he’s got on a pair of Persols – different brand, yet, same style. David knows the the wayfarer frame fits his face best, just as you should know what fits yours.

This isn’t your old geography teachers’ corduroy. This is David Beckham’s, and perfect to bring a bit of ruggedness in the autumn and winter seasons.

What are we paying attention to here? A plain black, crisp tuxedo? No, the tailoring – again. The last time we saw him in a suit, notice the break on his pants. They were higher, but now, they’re ever so slightly longer. Why? Because your suits can be more edgy, while your black-tie affairs should be more classy. Stick with traditional tailoring for your next event.

Worry that in the midst of this fashion craze that what you’re buying will go out of style the moment you pull it off the rack? Not too worry when you pick out for yourself a classic two-piece navy suit. Those never have, and never will go out of style.

Every man should have a statement jacket. And if you’re 6” tall and over, make it a long one.

Rule #90: Change up the fabric, the pattern, color, and styling – never the tailoring. David looks impeccable in all his blazers because they’re all cut the same and tailored to fit him.

Not a fan of scarves? Me neither – I find them rather effeminate. So when it gets cold and you’ve got to break one out, might as well go all out.

Rule #310: Just because you wear a suit, doesn’t mean you have to wear a tie.

Black makes you look sleek, elegant, and classy. So a black shirt is definitely an essential. Just, make sure it isn’t shiny. Unless your in the mob or appearing in a SNL night club skit.
